Since our last communication, preparing for our conference in Barcelona in 2014 has continued, despite the warm Mediterranean summer.
You have been able to consult the updated list of proposals accepted by the scientific committees. Now we are working to structure a balanced and coherent program that allows us to meet and discuss its contents in the best way.
As soon as possible we will present a pre-program which will help us all to plan our encounter as well as the details for the conference registration.
Meanwhile, for those who do not pass without a good dose of maritime history, we share an information that may interest you, an essential event in Seville during the month of September: The International Conference "THE PACIFIC, 1513-2013:From the SouthSea to the construction of a newscenario" organized by the University of Seville, the School of Hispano-American Studies and the Archivo General de Indias.

The event commemorates the V Centenary of the Discovery of the South Sea and aspires to a historiographical and methodological revision of the research done to date and, above all, "to overcome partial glances and to propose a comprehensive and open dialogue that overcomes positivist visions and national short-sighted glances in search of a new history of the South Sea according to a global world. "
Seville, the Pacific, the History ... who could resist?
